Book Fairs
With the Barkley’s Bookshelf book fair, we bring the books to you! Volunteers curate books by age and genre to provide a variety of popular titles from which young readers select books to keep forever. We partner with nonprofits and Title 1 schools such as the Hope Centers, Boys & Girls Country, and Cy-Fair Helping Hands for book distribution through book fairs.
Book Bundles
Some of our partners request book bundles because they are not able to host book fairs for their clientele for a variety of reasons. With our book bundle program, books are selected by age and reading level as requested by the recipient nonprofit based on their client’s needs. We have a monthly partnership delivering book bundles to Carrying Hope Houston, and will also ship book bundles in special instances as we did to the Santa Monica YMCA after the Southern California wildfires.
Summer Reading Program
Launching in June 2025, our Summer Reading Program will provide books for students lacking reading materials outside of school. In collaboration with Cy-Fair Helping Hands, we will register students and provide them with five books of their choice. Young readers can select from a list of 30 popular titles, including bilingual options. Along with a sturdy tote bag for book storage and a bookmark, books will be mailed to the recipients in mid-June.
